Ruby - Inspired in the fable “Ill príncipe Granchio”/ ”The Crab Prince” by Italian author Italo Calvino, gemstone artists Luis Alberto Quispe Aparicio created this bedazzling and functional jewellery art object. This is a story about a forbidden love represented by the secret jewellery hiding in the object; a mysterious way to entice a lover.

The entire crab was hand carved from an exceptional sized Ruby from Tanzania weighing over 75,000 carats in rough. .

Looking closely into the Prince Crab arms, one can detach several magnificent jewellery pieces. From the right arm you can grab a large multi-coloured tourmaline ring accentuated with gold and diamonds. From the left arm a tourmaline pendant which could be used together with the pebble ruby necklace resting on top of the obsidian base in which the crab stands. From the left and right arms, one can detach two triangular shaped earrings also in multicolour tourmaline with gold and diamonds. Finally, to top the design, the “Principe” body actually hides its functionality and just requires a Princess to grab it and use it as a clutch handbag ;)

Looking closely into the Prince Crab arms, one can detach several magnificent jewellery pieces. From the right arm you can grab a large Golden Rutilated Quartz Cross ring accentuated with gold and diamonds. From the left arm a Rutilated Quartz pendant which could be used together with the Golden Rutilated Quartz necklace resting on top of the obsidian base in which the crab stands. From the left and right arms, one can detach two earrings also in finely matched golden rutilated quartz with gold and diamonds. Finally, to top the design, the “Principe” body actually hides its functionality and just requires a Princess to grab it and use it as a clutch handbag ;)
